Why a reply deadline matters

A deadline is not strictness. It is a way to get a decision before the options go stale.

An open poll produces slow answers. The first people have already changed their plans by the time the last ones open the message.

A good deadline is 24–72 hours before the first option. Then the organizer has time to book a place or cancel it.

Send a reminder once, not every hour. Sopisiko shows who has not answered, so the reminder goes only to them.

When the deadline has passed, lock the time even if not everyone made it. A late vote can still join, but it must not reopen the poll.

The calendar booking is the reward for the deadline: the decision is made, and it shows somewhere other than one app.
